On 15th December, 1914, Tom Leeworthy was one of three men  from HMS Conqueror who were swept overboard and drowned in heavy weather off the Orkneys. HMS Conqueror was an Orion class Dreadnought battleship that had been launched in 1911 and was part of the Home Fleet.
